With just a matter of hours until he’s here, we’re putting the finishing touches on the baby’s room.

Last Wednesday we found that Courtney’s blood pressure had risen past a normal, safe level. She was instructed to rest for a couple days and come back Friday. On Friday her blood pressure was still too high. They decided it was safer (for Court’s health) to induce labor early.
While very concerned for Court & Carson’s health, we’re very excited to welcome the little guy into the world.
Over the last couple days I’ve had to quickly wrap things up at work (who through me a surprise party and got us some really nice things), buy a new camera, buy a rocking chair, pick up some other last minute things, and finish up the nursery all while Courtney has been busy resting (and organizing the baby’s closet … shhh).
So here we are. What an awesome first Fathers Day!
Tonight at midnight we’ll head down to Mission Hospital and begin induction. Her OB will come in tomorrow morning and check things out.
When time is available, I’ll post updates here from my phone. For more frequent updates check out my Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/jordanlyall or send me your cell phone # for text updates.
Please keep both Carson and Courtney in your prayers… and, while you’re at it, pray for me too.

Yesterday we had lunch with Courtney’s parents at Tortilla Flats on Lake Mission Viejo. Here are some photos:

On May 30th my wonderful friend Pamela threw me a nice baby shower at Buca Di Bepo along with my friends Jessie, Kelly and Ana. Pamela, thank you for putting the whole thing together. It was a perfect day! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and a huge thank you for all of your generous gifts. The Lyall family is very blessed to have all of you in our lives supporting us, loving us and praying for us.
Here is a picture with everyone who helped with the shower.

With the delicious cake!

I had my last day of work on Friday June 5th. I was planning on working until the 17th but Carson is wearing me out! I’ve been taking lots of naps and slowly getting things ready for the little guy to be here. On my last day of work everyone I work with pitched in and threw me a potluck lunch and gave me some cute baby clothes and a gift card to cover the cost of our crib. I am so grateful! Everyone at my school is amazing! The teacher I work closely with, and friend, Angela threw me a surprise baby shower with the families in my classroom. Jordan knew all about it and came to the shower as well. It was a great day!

The stepping stool that Angela and Vanessa had made for us. Cutest thing ever!

A huge thank you to Angela for putting the shower together and to all the families! It was a bittersweet last day. I’m thankful to be off so I can get as much rest in as I can now and take my time getting ready for the baby. But I already miss the kids and families so much!
As always there are a lot more pictures from these events under our photos link. If all goes as planned Carson should be here in 2 1/2 weeks! So, keep checking in!
They called it a 4D ultrasound. But I had always considered “time” the fourth dimension. I’m pretty sure we didn’t time travel, so I’m just going to call it a 3D ultrasound. Semantics aside, we got to see Carson in pretty great detail.
Here’s the first 5 minutes of the video:

On May 9th my sister, sister-in-law, aunt and cousins threw me a beautiful baby shower! I am overwhelmed with the amount of love people have for Carson already. He got so many nice things, I can’t wait for him to be here and use all of it. Thank you to everyone for making it to the shower and being such an important part of our lives. Your love and support means so much to us! A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped with the shower. It was an amazing and relaxing day for me, just the way I pictured it. I love you all!
This is everyone who helped with the shower.

My beautiful Mom!

Carson with his Mom, Aunt Katey and Aunt Leah

Carson’s Mimi and Gram. (Thank you Heidi for making the drive to Bakersfield. It really meant a lot that you were there. )

Patiently waiting…

There are a LOT more pictures under the photos link for everyone to look at. Thank you Mary for taking such great pictures, I love them all!
I can’t believe I am already 31 weeks along with Carson. Time is going by so quickly. Things are going really well and Carson is healthy and very active. One of our favorite games is to play music on Jordan’s iPhone and put it on my stomach and watch Carson rock out. He loves upbeat music!
A few weeks ago Jordan and I went to Bakersfield for my friend Elena’s wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and Elena looked gorgeous! I was able to catch up with a lot of people I haven’t seen in a long time. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my camera but my old friend Stephanie took some pictures of us and sent them to me. Thanks Steph! And congrats Elena and Mike!!!!

The day after the wedding we had a bbq at my parents house to celebrate Leah’s birthday. It was nice and relaxing and we had so much fun playing with our nephew Aidan. He is growing up so quickly!

This is my favorite picture ever!!

There are a lot more pictures if you click on our photos link.
May is looking very busy with showers, birthdays and baby classes and we are looking forward to all of it!
Jordan and I were planning on keeping our son’s name a secret, but we love it so much that we have decided to share it with everyone. His name is Carson.
We are still deciding on a middle name, but right now we are leaning towards Thomas. Thomas is Jordan’s middle name and his Grandpa’s middle name.
Carson is continuing to grow healthy and strong. We had an appointment on Wednesday and everything is on track and he has a really strong heartbeat. His heartbeat has to be my favorite all time sound.
People have been asking for belly photos so here you go. These were taken a week ago.

Last weekend we visited my best friend Kara in Santa Barbara. We had such a great time! Jordan and I are trying to get all those out of town visits and vacations in now because starting in 3 months it is going to be difficult to get away.

Stay tuned for more updates!
Hello All,
Today we caught another glimpse of our growing boy from a 10 minute long ultrasound. He seems to have everything the right size in the right place. We even got to see and hear his heart beat!
Here’s the video of the entire ultrasound. We won’t feel bad if you can’t sit through the whole thing – most of the time it looks like a lava lamp. But if you’d like to check out the heart beat skip to the three minute mark.
Here are the still photos we got:
